Katie and Philip's May 21st Wedding

Working in the wedding industry we work with a plethora of vendors everyday. Some of these vendors end up being more than just work buddies; they become real lifelong friends. So when Katie told me who we would work with on her wedding day I knew it would be more than amazing!

The Neslon-Atkins Museum of Art was the perfect location for Katie and Philip's wedding. They had originally considered her parent's backyard but that would require putting a dance floor over the pool, a maze of attached tents, motor coaches to transport guests from distant parking locations, caterers working from the house next door and mega prayers for gorgeous Kansas spring weather. So once they toured the floor plan at the Nelson, it became quickly apparent that this was the only way to go.

When guests entered they walked through the galleries to arrive at Rozelle Court for the cocktail hour. We placed arrangements on the cocktail tables and the fountain in the center of the room that also held light up floating orbs. For a grand reveal, Grand Kirkwood Hall had been draped. So when the bells chimed the curtains were pulled back for the 300 plus guests to enter Kirkwood Hall.

Amie and Alex's October 28th Wedding

Fall weddings typically bring upon thoughts of warm shades of orange, red and gold. However Amie and Alex had a different color palette in mind for their October wedding: white, light pink and bright blue. While this time of year usually brings along chilly weather, this weekend was an exceptionally warm day hitting 80°! This was a wonderful surprise as the ceremony was held outside. The beautiful scenery of Eighteen Ninety Event Space provided the perfect backdrop of the transitioning trees and an open view of rolling hills. Every element, from the crystal chandeliers to the French "Cinderella" pumpkins, gave Amie and Alex's day the look of rustic sophistication.

Sarah and Drew's October 8th Wedding

Lydia's Restaurant in downtown Kansas City was the perfect location for Sarah and Drew's intimate wedding. The outdoor area is lush with greenery creating a great entrance into the dining space. There was an abundance of sunlight on this day that spilled perfectly into the indoor area . Sarah loved the look of twinkling candlelight at night so we made sure to have plenty of our green mosaic votives on all the tables. Along with the different shades of white flowers, light linen elements and soft candlelight Sarah and Drew's wedding had a vintage vibe that was both clean and romantic.

Mini Shoot Monday

Simple Elegance Wedding Coordination Firm has what they call a Mini Shoot Monday, which is just what it sounds like - a small inspiration photoshoot put together by one of their wonderful wedding planners. We really enjoy working with Simple Elegance so we were thrilled when Kindra asked us to help. Kindra wanted something very elegant yet modern. She was inspired by pinks and green but wanted something more interesting. We used a mix of pinks and greens complimented with orange, purple and deep red, as well as many different textures. The elegance of ornate china and candle light softened the more modern elements of the paperie and tall laser cut crystal candle sticks.

Aryn and David's June 26th Wedding

Every fall Arrowhead Stadium is packed with fans ready to cheer on the Kansas City Chiefs. However, this June the stadium served as a nod to Aryn and David's favorite team as well as their wedding site. Aryn's bridesmaids wore red dresses of their choice. Their bouquets were a mix of the palest of blush roses, light green and pops of bright red while the bridal bouquet was the same color scheme it was made more lush with extra roses and leucandendron which made it really stand out.

Micaela and Tim's May 7th Wedding

Spring is always a popular wedding season. It has relatively mild temperatures and provides a popular seasonal flower, the peony. This full and soft bloom was perfect for the traditional and elegant look Micaela and Tim wanted. We used a range of light pinks, green and varying shades of cream to enhance the ambiance and "fairytale-look" of their ceremony at Our Lady of Sorrows. Their reception at Indian Hills County Club had a more rich and luxurious feel with a mix of low centerpieces and tall arrangements atop antiqued bronze candelabras. The look of their wedding from beginning to end flowed together seamlessly.

Tess and John's June 4th Wedding

Tess and John had a traditional early June wedding. Sometimes brides let you take creative control, but Tess played a big part in helping us to create her vision, which we LOVED. She really wanted the florals to be soft and romantic. We used a mix of the palest of pinks, apricot and blue along with classic ivory and blush. From the ceremony to the reception the look was lovely and refined.

Spring Tablescape

We had the privilege to work with some Kansas City's amazing wedding vendors on this photoshoot for the Hills Magazine. We created the floral garland to be a lush centerpiece, reminiscent of springtime gardens. We used our tall crystal candle holders to hold boxwood orbs. The height adds some interest while crystal added an element of elegance.

Eileen and Ryan's October 3rd Wedding

Eileen and Ryan's wedding is a great example of how you can make a little go a long way. They both really liked to color blue and Eileen loved the idea of simple arrangements with hydrangea. To make the hydrangea centerpieces fun and really pop we added bright blue flat cane. This really helped to give the design some dimension and a lot more interest.

To keep the bouquets from being too blue and monochromatic, we added a big mixture of whites and soft grey. Once the ceremony was over the bridal and bridesmaid bouquets were placed in vases and used as centerpieces at the reception.
